Why The Ocean?

  • Help save our troubled seas with One World One Ocean

  • Tags:

Across the world, oceanic ecosystems are in peril. Overfishing, pollution, and climate change are have pushed oceans worldwide to the precipice of disaster. One Ocean One World, an effort launched last October by Greg MacGillivray of MacGillivray Freeman Films, is urging people to act to save our troubled seas.

"The ocean is our planet's life support system, yet in my travels and at home, I've seen its degradation firsthand," said MacGillivray.  "What makes our campaign unique from other ocean campaigns is our focus on using motion picture entertainment and compelling storytelling to drive major social change on behalf of the oceans."

This infographic-driven clip from OWOO nicely drives home the issues faced by oceanic ecosystems -- and what can be done to reverse the trend.
