Shugo Tokumaru, "Katachi"

  • A splendid stop-motion animation, painstakingly rendered in paper and foam

Here's a stunner of an animated video that premiered on Pitchfork TV this week. Created for “Katachi,” a sprightly psych-pop cut from Shugo Tokumaru's In Focus? LP (released on Polyvinyl this week), the video features the best stop-motion action we've seen in a while. Warsaw-based directors Katarzyna Kijek and Przemys┼éaw Adamski crafted the visuals using paper and foam core, shifting the hypnotic landscape every split second. We're tired just thinking of how much work that took.
