Micro-Macro

  • An amazing animated story of the universe, told in food

  • Tags:

With inspiration from the Charles and Ray Eames' "Powers of Ten" -- the uber-great short documentary that takes viewers on an adventure in orders of magnitude -- filmmaking trio Encyclopedia Pictura set out to visualize the scales of the physical universe using stop-motion-animated food. "Micro-Macro" is the result, and the result is awesome. From atomic particles made of brussel sprouts, to human lungs represented in beet leafs, to a multi-layered red onion universe, the film cleverly takes us from the miniscule to the massive. Ending in a minute flat, the clip will leave you feeling a curious mixture of hungry and fascinated. Read more about the video here.
