After two decades as an art director/designer in SoCal's surf/skate industry, Neil Harrison was looking to do his own thing, preferably something involving his hands. That something is Stormy Monday, a new project driven by quality craftsmanship and sustainable design principles. These Stormy Monday decks are repurposed from old, discarded boards that Harrison collects from friends and colleagues. After peeling off grip tape and sanding off graphics, Harrison cuts out custom shapes and finishes them with stain and paint. Everything is done by hand, which makes each board a labor of love (and accounts for the hefty price tag). The boards are available via Shelter Half, where you can also find Stormy Monday cutting boards (made from reclaimed wood, naturally).
