Wave Energy Breaks in the UK

  • Posted by on September 7, 2010 in Energy
  • According to Inhabitat, a new renewable energy project in the UK is set to become the country's first offshore facility that will channel wave energy into usable electricity. Dubbed the Wave Hub, the facility is located off the northern coast of Cornwall.

Sitting on the sea floor, the Wave Hub essentially acts as a socket into which wave energy converters are plugged. It then transmits electricity back into the grid where it will be accessible to all.

The project will put the U. on the forefront of the upstart tidal energy industry, and will hopefully spread to applicable locations around the globe.
