This Furniture Used to be Political Campaign Signs

  • After the dust has settled on an election in Brazil, there is one visible reminder of what went down: piles of political campaign sandwich boards strewn across streets and sidewalks, no longer wanted or needed. In the country's capital, Brasilia, there is 50 tons of campaign trash leftover each election year, according to JWT Brazil.

    But this year, Mobilise Brasil, a non-profit initiative that is working to improve mobility for Brazilians in their cities, paired with architect and designer Maurício Arruda and JWT Brazil to create Political Furniture: furniture made from the scraps of these campaign boards. More...
