SHFT is a multi-media platform founded earlier this year by film producer Peter Glatzer, actor and filmmaker Adrian Grenier, and sustainable designer Lauren Gropper. Our mission is to convey a more sustainable approach to the way we live through art, video, design and culture.
We bring together curated and original videos, a shop with sustainably designed items, and a host of blogs and resources, all under one platform.
It takes a lot to make a movement on the quotidian level. Art is one of the most powerful tools we have to underscore our relationship to nature. Through our curatorial collaboration with Edie Kahula-Pereira, we’ve gathered art works and design pieces that examine our increasingly fragile connection to the earth.
With the SHFT Pop-Up Store and Gallery, we wanted to explore the idea that “environmentalism” as a movement, as a separate category, has become anathema. Sustainability should be folded into the fabric of our lives, a part of our consciousness that touches everything we do. It should be reflected in our culture, our art, our music and design, and nudge us further towards the sustainable direction in which we’re inevitably headed.
The collection in our space reflects the cultural shift taking place, and celebrates the artists and designers who have incorporated these ideas into their work with unique and practical narratives.
