Recykiosks

  • Posted by SHFT on July 25, 2012 in Architecture
  • Here's another cool green design project from (surprise!) Holland, where designers Rikkert Paauw and Jet van Zwieten offer a hefty dose of symbolism by transforming old garbage dumpsters into functional mini-buildings.

Dubbed "Recykiosks," the structures were built using dumpsters filled with discarded construction waste. The "recyclitects" erected the kiosks in three different districts of Utrecht, giving each a different public function depending on its location. Perhaps the coolest one is a mobile bar that can be easily transported to a new location.

Great concept, would love to see something like this on this side of the pond.
