OfficePOD

  • Posted by on April 23, 2010 in Architecture
  • More and more people are working from home, and that trend doesn't look like it's going to reverse anytime soon. Which is great. We welcome a shift that blurs conventional lines between life and work. And the most eco-friendly commute is no commute at all.

But between the fridge, the TV, and the stereo, it can be hard to stay focused on work. Trust us.

Inhabitat hips us to a UK design firm addressing the issue with a prefab workspace that allows people to work away from distractions at home.

OfficePOD is a fully equipped office space (complete with desk, storage, lighting, and blinds) that comes with a host of green credentials, including the highest ratings under the Energy Performance Certificate scheme as well as the BREEAM rating program.

So if you're into green design, and work at home, and live in the UK, and have a backyard, and lots of money (an OfficePOD will cost you the equivalent of $24,400 plus installation and tax), this may be the perfect solution for you.
