Jim Vecchi: Markings

  • Posted by Neil Simonton on August 12, 2014 in Photography
  • It's always cool when images reveal the beauty in the everyday, the things we may otherwise overlook going about our daily business. Jim Vecchi does just that with Markings, a series of photos that uncover the shapes, patterns and colors of sidewalks and driveways in San Francisco's Sunset District.

The photos are just one part of a three-part series Vecchi calls The Sunset Trilogy. In his words: "The Sunset District in San Francisco is a very residential area that is shrouded by fog during much of the year. This seemingly non-descript area does, however, have particular aspects that are simultaneously peculiar and poetic.”
