We would like to take a moment to thank Illusion for introducing us to the photography of Jared Chambers because wow, this is some mind-boggingly beautiful stuff. The 27-year-old Los Angeles-based photographer, who grew up in the Pacific Northwest and spent his summers in Montana, regularly ventures to the wilderness to shoot sublime natural landscapes. Whether it's sunlight beaming through a canopy of trees, fog rolling over craggy cliffs, or a road disappearing into the distance, Jared never fails to capture a compelling combination of light, subject, and perspective.
An accomplished portrait photographer, Jared in recent years has been increasingly drawn to landscapes and nature: "It’s hard to explain, but for me, some of my favorite parts of being outdoors and shooting nature is the escape it provides from daily life and societal pressures that naturally come up when I’ve been in a city, especially LA, for too long," he said in a VSCO feature. "There is no keeping up with the Joneses in the great outdoors. People are just there to live and enjoy the current moment. For me, when I’m there I can let go, and my brain is completely quiet, no longer entertaining the everyday fears, goals or daily to-do lists."
