Bodies in Urban Spaces

  • Posted by on September 28, 2010 in Art
  • Whoa, how neat is this? This week in New York City, a bunch of colorfully-clad performers invaded the Financial District in lower Manhattan, creating "human sculptures" by piling themselves on building roofs, construction scaffolding, benches, and pretty much any other structure they could find (including the entrance to the New York Stock Exchange). Led by choreographer Willi Dorner, the playful and inventive use of city space offered an unforgettable blip in the days of the people who saw it. "Wall Street will never look the same," commented one viewer.
