"Imagine roaming the world’s largest ocean year after year alone, calling out with the regularity of a metronome, and hearing no response." Ten years ago, a very unique, very lonely whale was recognized by the New York Times. Today, we are on a quest to find him.
52: THE SEARCH FOR THE LONELIEST WHALE, the documentary, is a cinematic quest to find the “52 Hertz Whale,” whom scientists believe has spent its entire life in solitude, calling out at a frequency that no other whale can understand. As we embark on this engrossing journey, we will explore what this whale’s lonely plight can teach us, not just about our changing relationship to the oceans, but to each other in our hyper- connected world.
Director Joshua Zeman, Executive Producers, Adrian Grenier and Lucy Cooper launched the Kickstarter campaign today with a goal to fund the resarch and expedition of finding the 52 Hz whale.
This includes the research vessel which will take our scientists and film crew out to sea for 20 days, in search of the loneliest whale in the world in an effort to connect. This journey will help us further understand how ocean noise pollution is affecting these majestic creatures and our oceans. So go to the Kickstarter and pledge what you can.
The expedition will launch this Summer/ Fall (2015) Rewards include this exclusive design by Shepard Fairey, private whale watching experience with Adrian Grenier, and more.
